The ideal frequency for dental hygiene visits depends on your individual oral health needs.  Many patients visit every six months, while those with gum disease or other risk factors may benefit from appointments every three to four months.  Regular visits help maintain healthy teeth and gums and allow concerns to be identified early.  At Halo Dental Hygiene, we'll assess your individual needs and recommend a personalized treatment plan that is right for you.

Can I still see my regular dentist for other dental procedures?

Absolutely!  You can continue seeing your regular dentist for restorative procedures such as fillings, crowns, root canals and extractions. At Halo Dental Hygiene, we provide comprehensive dental hygiene examinations, assessments and preventative care, and we collaborate with or refer to other oral health professionals when additional care is needed.

How often should I brush and floss?

Brush your teeth for two minutes at least twice a day, preferably in the morning and before bed. It's important to use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste to effectively remove plaque and prevent cavities. Floss or clean between your teeth at least once a day to remove plaque from areas your toothbrush cannot reach.  This helps prevent gum disease and tooth decay. Mouthwash may be recommended for specific needs, but it does not replace brushing and cleaning between the teeth.  Remember to schedule regular dental check-ups and cleanings with your oral health practitioner to ensure optimal oral health.

These visits also help children become familiar and comfortable with the dental environment, setting the foundation for positive lifelong oral health habits. Halo Dental Hygiene is dedicated to providing children with a calm, supportive, and friendly experience.  Children aged three and under are eligible for a complimentary "Happy Visit".

Yes. You can contact Halo Dental Hygiene directly to schedule dental hygiene care.  If care outside the dental hygiene scope of practice is needed, we will explain the concern and discuss what type of oral health professional may be appropriate.  You can then choose the provider you would like to see.
